What’s the recommended maintenance for a fan coil?

We recommend performing routine cleaning and maintenance every six months on your PHNIX Ultra-Thin Fan Coil Unit. Follow the instructions in the manual for cleaning the strainer.  If preferred, this maintenance can be completed by a technician.

Can the PHNIX Ultra-Thin Fan Coil work with my existing heating system?

The PHNIX Ultra-Thin Fan Coil works with any heating system that can provide water that’s at least 100°F and at most 158°F.

How do fan coils work?

For heating, the PHNIX Ultra-Thin Fan Coil takes air from your room and circulates the inlet air through its internal aluminum fin heat exchanger. At the same time, hot water flows from the a connected pipe to copper pipes inside of the heat exchanger. The heat from the water transfers to the air via the heat exchanger. The fan coil then blows the hot air back into the room. The cooled water exits to be reheated by your home’s heating system.

The system works the same way for cooling, only the inlet water is cool and the outlet water is warm.
